drowning... i think you slip into unconsciousness before it hits you that you're dying. besides, burning to death would totally suck.

Burning is much worse. People say that drowning is one of the best ways to go, because it's relaxing once you give in to it. Burning on the other hand, is very painful, and it takes you a while to die.

I would say drowning would be the way to go. I would think it would be less painful than burning. The initial shock of burning if slowly would be awful I would think. Think about the last time you got burned and then think about the last time you were in the ocean and choked cause you got dragged under... I would want to go by drowning.

Burning, because in drowning one would pass out first, and then die. When burning, one feels the pain.

Burning, you pass out before you drown, the human body goes into a euphoric state similar to dreaming just before death.
When you are burned the severe pain will eventually make you lose consienceness but not before you experience the most agonizing pain ever.

My leg was burned in 1979 with a welding torch it wasn't any fun! Had to have 5 skin grafts, skin taken from buttocks. I ain't saying drowning is a whole lot of fun but if you ever smelled burning hair & flesh you'll know what I mean!

drowning is worse simply because in most circumstances where you might burn to death, you pass out from smoke inhilation first. Drowning might not be as painful, (at least, not as painful as when you burn- as I said, burning _to death_ you feel nothing as you are passed out. In fact, most people don't die from the fire, but from the smoke first.) but it does (i imagine) force you to feel completely hopeless and desperate.

Burning. It lasts longer and, unless you're completely intolerant to pain, it'll be hard to just pass out and feel nothing. For drowning you might have a few moments of lungs-are-about-to-burst before blacking out.
