For the men that cheat and flirt with others while you are married? Why do you do it?

I cannot understand why men cheat and flirt with other women while they are married! My friend's husband is one of those and he even has tested me!!

I've never done it personally. But statistically, there are a surprising number of women that do it too. Why? Where do I start?

Many times there is something missing in a relationship and the person somehow finds somebody that fufills that gap. Many times it's not intentional, but grows out of a friendship with somebody else.

Other times it's because the person misses the excitment of dating, but doesn't want to leave the security of an existing relationship.

And finally, society allows it. It's in all the media and we accept it.

I honestly feel its a matter of EGO. Every man wants to project his projecting to be a macho to the world and does not look at having a go with other women as cheating his wife ( though pangs of guilt will come soon enough). Its actually amazing at times as one may be married to a fantastic woman but yet the man being what he is will even have an affair with the ugliest one he can find to who he can bed!Then there is a matter of a lot of women who prefer married men and this encourages the men more. Men are always on the look out for sex and thats why you will find them ogling at the breasts, **** etc. of all women - it is in their nature and nothing can change that.

Not only do I agree with AVP Rocks but I will also add to it! Ask yourself this question:"what is the most important thing about this whole issue"? If you answered MY CHILD and MY HUSBAND you will have answered CORRECT!! I mean really??!! You (and your friend) made the decision to get married and have children and now you are both acting like young single people who are "foot loose and fancy free" with no regard to the moral dilemma that you are placing on your family! Also, you both are taking the young guys that are either just wanting or using you both for sexual pleasure or they really have no clue (naive) of what games you are both playing!! GROW UP! If your friend does not understand this then lose her like a bad habit before your life has totally been screwed up. So yes, its cheating to answer your question.

I tend to agree with the GIST of what "super_sexy_amazona" says in the report she pasted in from ivillage. However, they are notorious for FAILING to ensure the proper attention is ALSO placed on the half of the relationship that DIDN'T cheat..... How well did they listen, communicate, etc.... Things, especially the responsiblity go BOTH ways. Yet iVillage has rampant slams against the 'man' who just couldn't be faithful and respectful..... that he is SO messed up, and wrong, and dirty, UGGHHH

Relationships take both people to make it work, yet the fault and blame is ALSO on both of them. Seeing a BETTER balance, would be most refreshing.

There's 2 primaries reasons men cheat on their wife.

1. He's not getting something at home. Sometimes the wife is not providing something that he is looking for. It could be an ear, could be something in the bedroom...could be a lot of things.

2. The RARE case of women actually offering themselves up. Depending on the character of the man, he may not see himself passing that opportunity up.

Wait a second. Cheating and flirting are 2 completely different things. I have certainly flirted lightly with other women, but I never have and never will cheat on my wife. I certainly can't flirt with my wife. For me the flirting with other women just gets me worked up to want my wife more. As far as guys cheating on their wives, they are pigs, and if they're wives find out and stay with them, they are morons.

Genetic thing...you cannot argue with nature. Monogomy is an un-natural state that men are forced into by society. Doesn't work out as well as many women would like, but on the other hand, women cheat also, so why do they do that????

Because either we are mad at the women we are with and we want to "get even" with her (which is why we would select a friend to flirt and have an affair with), or because sexually we are bored to tears.
