Honestly, I'm pretty surprised - I thought he'd find some way around it. They were really making a big deal about watching to see which way he would go, and on one hand, I didn't expect him to come out and show who he was.
On the other hand, I like to think that he does what he does as spider-man for pure reasons - because he can't NOT help people. With that being said, I would think that if it came down to it and he was forced to show who he is in order to keep doing what he's doing - for the greater good - I think he'd do it. I think that above his personal life and above his family, he'd unmask to continue doing what he does.

I think it is a pretty bold move but I ahvent kept up with the comic in a long time and dont have any idea as to what the resoning is. But It is something Spidey would do I think. He is jus that sort of guy and Say Hey Look At ME But not for Glory or anyting but to say I am doing whats right

I think it is a very powerful yet controversial story line idea but I agree with those who think it is a bad idea but not because I don't think a great story can come of this idea. I don't like it because now every single family member of every single hero who reveals their true identity will be targeted. True evil has no morals
or conscience and no matter how powerful heroes are, there is no way they can protect their families all of the time. So much for the families freedom to try and live a somewhat normal and SAFE life.

It was dumb and unoriginal! Marvel has already outed and unmasked Captain America & Daredevil. There was no need to unmask Spidey. Marvel is pretty much just runnig out of original ideas and rehashing what they have already done. The whole Civil War series is just plain dumb, and unnessary!

Totally cool. It was only a matter of time before the story would have to evolve to this. Very creative and this really opens up some new doors. It was kind of shock though even though I always thought it would be cool.

I hate it. It's the equivalent of DC unmasking Batman or Superman to the world (all bad ideas). His secret identity as just a normal guy was all but perfect. I am interested in seeing how they explain how come Mary Jane is ALWAYS in peril now (they'll probably have them divorce or just kill her off now) or something stupid.

I love it. But like with most things I will wait to see how it plays out in the story writting. Seems that Marvel gets a good Idea and then drops it lately.

It makes no sense. Peter Parker has now officially exposed each and every one of his family and friends to the danger that comes with being involved with him. Tell me Doc Ock or Venom or one of his other old enemies isn't going to come after them??? Brainless idea from start to finish.

Tony Stark pushed him into doing it.
