I have T-mobile and want to get a new phone. I don't want to purchase through t-mobile and tack on another 2 year contract. Will transferring my SIM card to another cell phone, unlocked or t-mobile branded, automatically transfer my cell number and NOT require me to activate ($fee) it?

your sim card is your "ID" -- it holds your phone number, the people in your contact lists, messages etc. if you transfer your t-mobile sim card to another phone (t-mobile or unlocked phones) it doesn't affect anything. you still have the same number, the same rate plan everything...
if you happen to have stored the people in your contact list to your phone (and not to the sim card) be sure to copy those entries (contacts) to your sim by going to the phone book and press "copy to sim" -- so that you don't have to go through re-entering everybody's phone number in your new phone. buying new phones just by itself (no plans) are very expensive, but the good part of it is that you are not committed to a contract.

its whether the phone is compatible with your Sim's card some companies put a lock on it so the phones wont transfer without you purchasing their services if your going to keep your services its likely that most phones will transfer just be careful and ask before you purchase....good luck...

All you have to do is take the SIM Card out and put it into the new phone. My husband does it all the time cause the little monkey head keeps breaking his lol

reverse phone number search compiles hundreds of millions of phone book records to help locate the owner's name, location, time zone, email and other public information.

Use a reverse phone lookup to:
Get the identity of an unknown caller.
Identify an area code.
Recall the name of a person whose number you wrote down.
Identify an unfamiliar phone number that shows up on your bill.
