I didn't know there was a such thing as an external sound card until the other day but anyway I wanted to know is there really any difference.

Internal sound cards. Now, if you have a laptop there are some special options avialable for you. The Creative Audigy 2ZS for laptops comes in a PCMCIA flavor. If you have a desktop the best choices are the Creative Audigy 2, 4 or X-Fi Extreme Music with the X-Fi being the best possible card you can get your hands on today.

An external sound card, to my knowledge does not have a dedicated audio processor so it is relying on your CPU to do most of the work but it does manage to output better sound than the built-in card will. So you have my reccomendation for the laptop and do not look elsewhere for a desktop card besides Creative.

Aren't you the philosophical one. I think you may have pegged me for someone without intelligence, maybe? Well, to assess your assessment, I must say that, while you do make a lot of poignant textbook points, I, my dear, am not your typical textbook case.

I grew up in an affluent family. I've been modeling since I was 15 and I and am living a very priviledge lifestyle. And yes, I do have a college degree. I'm just a barracuda, honey. I like the conquest. If I want it, i'll take it. No questions asked. I"m sorry if you can't understand this frame of thinking. What you should do is be thankful that i'm far away in Florida or else i'd take your boyfriend, although I doubt he would meet my standard..I did say I was a professional model, right...

Hi,

It depends on what kind of setup are you planning. I feel personally that you can get all the latest features in an internal sound card as well. So, its all upto you, your budget and your liking as to which one you like. For my personal choice, I feel cleaner enviornment with less external devices (especially like a sound card).

Check the following link out to compare the features for the range of external and internal sound cards available from Creative: http://www.creative.com/products/comparechart/select.asp?category=1&subcategory=204&product=9103
