No, I wouldn't use commercial weed killers, either.
There are various natural solutions: One web site recommends a combination of salt, vinegar, and a few drops of liquid detergent, sprayed on the plant. I know salt kills roots of most plants (but stays in soil, so don't use it where you plan to plant something else).
I searched the web under " 'poison ivy" kill natural" and came up with a raft of web sites, which also led to still other sources. Might also search "natural weedkillers." Good luck! Wish you and your family well. Sharon

Well, if you can't spray chemicals since you are pregnant, you might try covering it up to kill it and help stop it from spreading till you can spray it. Just place a piece of plywood on top of it so it doesn't get any light.
My dad will sometimes spray gasoline or diesel fuel on it. That will dry the leaves out and keep it from spreading.
Or if you live out in the country you can get a billy goat and just stake him near it. He'll eat every last bit of it. A friend of ours did that with a hillside ful of briars and poison ivy that he had that was too steep to hardly clear. All he had to do was move the stake around the hillside and put a pan of water out for the goat.
When you can spray it. Round-up or tree and brush killer should kill it.

Pull it out, roots and all. Just don't touch it.
Other than that, I would call a lawn service professional.
