All sorts of things happen that break our hearts. It's how we perceive them that changes us, for good or ill.
Two people get assaulted--one grows bitter and mistrustful, the other establishes a shelter for battered victims.
It truly is our choice how we view what happens to us. We can close off or we can grow.

even though change is hardest among us humans, i think wat changes us most is sudden fear. for example out of high school, 1st offense 5 years in prison. i think that would change someone more than if the person had already been to jail because they have adapted to the jail life so whats another five years? so i think that sudden events or spontaneous actions change us most
