He is totally overrated. Sure he is not that bad, but I don't think he deserves to be Captain. Gerrard would be a better captain. Just because he married an ex-spice girl doesn't make him good at football!

To be honest, I don't like him. Not his looks, not his "fame", not the talent he doesn't have, not how incredibly overrated he is, not how he just hangs around waiting for the ball so he can score and get more famous, not anything. If someone is going to have that much fame, he better have the extraordinary talent to back it up, and clearly, he doesn't.
There are much better, incredibly gifted players who spend their time practicing, not looking for popularity. And there are hotter ones too. Have you seen Cristiano Ronaldo, or Kaka or some of the guys from the Italian team? Now that's sexy.

David Beckham has the highest profile for any sportsman on the planet. He has , quite rightly, used this to boost his wallet. He can play football too and his wife is also quite a looker. so yes i believe jelousy is probablies right.

personally, I think David Beckham is extrememly HOTT and people probably just criticize him because he is really hot and they know it and wish they were as hot as him and he can play soccer like no other. You are right. They are all just jealous!

Because, as a result of his celebrity status, people think he's one of the best footballers. I agree the guy is very good, but I could name a Top 10 who are much better than him. He's overrated because of his popularity status. Because of this, he will indeed get criticized.
