Couldn't Wolverine have used the needles that take away mutants powers to stop her instead of killing her???

First of all, Wolverine only made it to her cus he healed every time she started tearing skin away, so I don't think the needles would have lasted long. Plus they're not a permanent cure anyway. Second, if you read the comic, Jean's body doesn't die, her mind goes into stasis and she unknowingly picks up the dark spirit, which takes the name Dark Phoenix and uses her to take over the world (enter apocalypse and archangel). Xavier takes over his twin brother's body which has been comatose since birth due to the extreme mental powers of Xavier (he stole all the good juice). Cyclops was only put into stasis, hence why you didn't get to see him die, because Jean takes over and stops Phoenix before she can finish him. He is now in the bottom of the lake. He will end up becoming Dark Phoenix's right hand man. The cure ends up only being a temporary fix, like the flu vaccine, and so it wears off on all mutants, so everybody who lost their powers gets them back. Basically, X-Men 3 was a pointless void in which they were able to kill off a bunch of characters just to have them come back in the already in production X-Men 4 and have everybody go "Wow, that was crazy" X-Men 3 sucked.

if you were paying attention, you'd know that jean is a class 5 mutant, the only one in the world. those needles containing the so-called antidote probably wouldnt work, and jean would have disintegrated them before wolverine got close enough. the 'cure' also doesnt work - its not a permanent thing, so jean's powers would have resurfaced anyway.
and he had to kill her cos she couldnt control her powers and was too dangerous

The movie wasn't that undesirable yet def no longer in accordance to the comedian. Scott (the fellow who wears the shades) dies after only performing for 5 minutes. The Professor also dies in the midst of the movie. on the top Jean gray, the fellow who replaced into meant to die in the previous X-adult males movie, comes back as Phoenix. And yup, she dies too. Yeah, so practically 1/2 the X-adult males are useless.

To end a crappy movie because the new director ruined the series. Jean shouldn't have died but it was an effective way to end something without creating another closing scene. Basically X-men 3 blew nuts compared to the 2 preceeding x-men series

Yeah, but she's not really dead. Neither is Profex. or Cyclops ... this is Comic Book Reality, where no one dead ever stays dead.
Shoot, Phoenix has died and been reserected at least three times. Professor Ex at least twice. Cyclops once, that I'm sure of.
Don't sweat a little "down time" for Marvel Girl, she can come back as soon as there's a need.

If she is a level 5 mutant, and you saw magneto barely move his chess peice and he is a level three, do you think the needles would have really done much?

She had to die to have people thinking if she would come back again. She also died because it was in the script. You will find that my second answer is the main reason for a lot of things that happen in the movies.

Uh yeah she had to die. She was like a woman PMSing with a crap load of super powers. Not a good thing.

That would have been a good idea, I don't think he was thinking that way...and don't feel alone I look into movies like that too. BUT she might have gotten her powers back anyway because Magneto got his back...moderately.

jean was to powerful, and she couldn't control her powers.it was actually the proffesor who was controlling jean at first, that's why jean killed the proffesor.the reason why she did kill the proffesor, that was the only way to get him out of her mind.

Another reason why he had to kill her,was because she went on magneto's side but he only used her to kill people.she had no were else to go,so she went with magneto, she turned evil, then she couldn't control her power.
