You can get a new one for about $25.00, So I guess it depends on how much a new battery will cost you. I would buy a new one myself. Good luck.

If I were you i'd get the most inexpensive one i might want to discover till you've the money to purchase a real one. Then make investments in a competent gas form. I have a Troy-outfitted that's a 4 stroke (no prefer to mix gas and oil) and it takes different attachments. I have the tiller attachment that works properly for flower beds yet additionally they make an edger attachment and a blower attachment that i'm conscious of. i imagine they actually have pruning and hedge trimming attachments . that's an tremendously reliable unit and that i have been beating the crap out of mine for 3 years with honestly NO issues. Very happy I made the funding. reliable success Chris

Assuming you can get a battery for it, look at the cost. Which is most cost effective? After 15 years, if you get a new battery, there is no law that says something else won't break next week.
If it was me. A new one.

Get a new one, the battery is not cheap and as old as it is the motor may go out after you buy a battery.
