Twizi.com has a very good Paris page with a map of all Paris hostels and where they are at in comparision to the Monuments and sights. They also have great descriptions and photos. Since they only list hostels that cost less than 25 dollars, youre pocketbook doesn't have to suffer either. Their Paris page is below. Happy Travels!
