I own the Creative Zen Microphoto (8GB) and the Creative Zen Vision M (30GB).

Both are under $300.
Both are in the 5-20GB range.
Both have color screens.
Both display photos.
Both have FM radios and voice recorders built in.

Both are REALLY easy to use. The Vision M has a great user interface.

The Creative Zen Vision M plays videos. I've just downloaded a bunch of videos for my son from Brickfilms.com and Yahoo Video Search. (Warning some had to be transcoded to view on the Zen Vision M but they'd have to be transcoded to work on the iPod as well).

For me, the big deciding factor for going with Creative over the iPod was the fact that I like renting subscription music and have done so for almost 3 years. Why spend $$$$ on 1000 to 5000 songs to fill your player when you can fill the player for as little as $10 a month (pre-paid for a year). Buying 5000 songs at 99cents each will get you 41 YEARS of subscription music and tens of thousands of songs. Apple won't let you rent music for your iPod. I figure, people rent houses, lease cars, rent DVDs, borrow books, why not do subscription rental of all your music. When you get tired of a song, who cares? Download another one. These subscription music services include Yahoo Music Unlimited To Go, Rhapsody To Go, and Napster To Go. Of course, you can buy songs from these services as well ... but why?
