How much do Fast Food workers really make in a year?

I mean Really? How could someone survive on that? I hear plenty of guesses, I just would like to hear the facts.

less than $5000. i have had job at wendys for the last 5 1/2 months and i have mad only about $1000. i could not live on that alone, no one i know can. but i am 16 and no where else will hire me in this small town. and no one will pay better. in december i will have made only $2200, for the whole year of working.

At $6/hr and a 40 hour work week you gross $12480 per annum. less taxes you likely net ~$9k
