I say it's all of the above, pure and simple.

I wouldnt blame it on the population. The thing that you have to realize about G-Dubya is absolutely not a conservative, which is why he has an approval rating of about Negative -27.(exaggeration) Believe it or not, politically, I'd say that I fall just tad left on the political spectrum and I still voted for Dubya in 04'. The way I see it, its not much that I voted for Bush as much as I voted AGAINST John Kerry. If I were a betting man, I'd assume that most people did the same. At the same time, you have to remember that virtually everything that Bush promised during his '04 campaign has turned out to be lies. Its that simple. He's lying bullsh-- liar. I wouldnt even say that Dubya is a complete idiot, not that he's a genious by stretch of imagination, but I think he's simply a puppet of his daddy's buddies. I'm not ashamed to admit it, but if I could go back to November of 2004, I simply wouldnt have voted. If I could do that, it still wouldnt have changed anything, but I might be able to sleep a little better at night. Although, God only knows where we'd be in John Kerry was elected. Even though I am a registered Democrat voter, I'm still simply dismayed at how the Democrats carry themselves these days. Theyre sometimes worse than the uber-religious right. It really depends on what context at which youre comparring. I think that the answer is a complete reconstruction of the Government, what we have now is simply not acceptable. What we have now is like a WWF wrastlin' match, in one corner we have the LockStepping BushBots, in the other corner we have the SocialistSh/*Heads. Its really a lose/lose situation for the average Jack. Those that are already poor and helpless dont care, they have the welfare system to suck on. The rich dont give a rats a$$, because Hell, theyre rich, whats happens to the middle class is none of their concern, which leaves us in the destitue f-**hole middleground. Until the eliteists that are our Government representatives decide to do whats best the country and quit lining their own pockets, we're f***ed. I say, that a revolution is in order, but Jesus Christ, what the hell do I know?

Bush was a cheerleader in school and got out of his National Guard service 6 months early during Vietnam so he could go work on someone's election (fact). Plus, type in Bush And Texas Rangers on any search engine and read how he mishandled the Texas Rangers baseball team,
so....he might be a loser and maybe lazy because he didn't immediately take on the problems that his good buddy Michael Brown compounded with Katrina, but that does that make him an idiot?

I'm not totally sure. He seems like an Idiot but won twice (be it trivial though, to win by the electoral college and loose the popular vote) I honestly think that we need better canidates and more legitimate choices. Kerry seemed weak and his VP Edwards had a bad senate track record. Gore should have won but lost because of the way our elections are set up... (so odd that the governor of the state that decides the election is the brother of the man who won by marginal votes.) We really need to change the way our government operates to prevent this from ever happening again (a lame president). First... Campaign Finance reform... I don't think there should be any donations given to political partys they should all have set budgets and specific places that they can advertise. (keep 3rd party's out of it) The president should have to give up all ties to business that he is involved in before(Stocks and Mutual funds, not allowed to invest). The way they should operate is whats best for the Country first, whats best for the world 2nd) I could go on and on but I don't want to waste too much time ranting.

I am liberal as a rule, but I don't consider George Bush to be an idiot. I do however consider him a person whose will is not as strong as it should be. I honestly believe that he believes what he says about himself being compassionate but that he has surrounded himself in those who want power (most notably Don Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney). The worst thing that could happen right now is that we lose Mr. Bush before the next election, or it could mean totalitarian government under Cheney. They say things to Mr. Bush that make sense on the surface but will fall under scrutiny, then push and cajole him or sometimes reinforce his beliefs but incorrectly until he gives in and that becomes the administration's policy. As far as the populations that elected him back in, fear of the gays is pretty strong apparently. Although there is strong evidence that large amounts of Democrats weren't allowed to vote (or had their vote switched to Republican) throughout the country, but especially in Ohio (the critical state that won the election for Bush).

All i have to say is if John Kerry was in charge the Terrorist would be running free. And the polls tend to be taken in New York which is the second most liberal state behind California. If you took a poll of everyone in the U.S. it would be more like 60-75% Approve and 40-25% disaprove. The whole mid and southern sections are for Bush because they have some sense.

And you are a genius. It is amazing how easy it is to second guess people, no one knows what is the correct thing to do. Never ever, because we can't see into the future.
What office do you hold? Are you planning on running for president? I wonder if people will call you an idiot?
What would you do different. Rather then criticize, how about some constructive criticism!

If you're referring to the 2004 elections, i don't think it's either. I actually think that Kerry was an idiot for his beliefs, goals, and promising things that are not possible. At least Bush is being realistic.

Actually, he wasn't elected by 60% of the population. He won a majority of the electoral college.
55% of registered voters cast their vote. Winning a majority of that means he was elected by 28% of the voting population.

Watch the documentary "Outfoxed". Fox News polls people that love bush and they still have his approval ratings well below 40%,
so the person that thinks if the right people are polled then Bush would be popular is wrong. How does it feel to be in the minority loving this incompetent King?
