also is there a faster extension that could download stuff faster

Flashgot it's a firefox extension that allows you to use DAP or other similar downloading applications to download files instead of the firefox downloader (just that).
If you are trying to make your downloads faster, try the "Downthemall!" extension.

use Internet Download Manager (IDM) or Internet Download Accelerator(IDA) or at last you can enjoy Download accelerator plus(DAP)
you can download any one of them from www.download.com
