Losing Pujols, D. Lee, or the combination of Matsui and Shef...

The Cards have plenty of Offense so Pujos will be missed but not greatly. It's losing Mulder that would derail the Cards. With the Yanks Godzilla going down hurts, but Williams is picking up alot of the slack. A-Rod is more than enough to compensate for Sheffields being gone. To be honest I think the Yanks would benifit more by trading Sheffield for a younger RF anyway. There is no shortage of offense on the team, but better defense in right would help the pitching staff. Mussina the kind of year he's having would be a more devastating blow and Rivera going down always cripples the Yanks.

Derek Lee is a fluke, he wasn't going to have a second year like the last unless he's juicing. Lee is too old to have suddenly filled out and learned how to hit. If a 25 yr old does it thats one thing. Even a 28 yr old. Lee is what 31 or 32 and suddenly after years as a poor hitter he's an RBI leader? No way he did that without Steroids or HGF or something like that. Not unless it was a fluke season.

Even though Pujols is the best, D. Lee is more important on a less talented Cubs team. The Yankees have enough money to patch their holes--they won't be hurting too badly.

Losing Derek Lee along with the pitchers definitely hurt the Cubs...we'll see about the loss of Pujols...Rolen is picking up the slack for now.

losing the combination..i mean you cant just go out and trade or buy two new players it takes time if you want a real threat instead of goin go the free agent pool and picking up a guy that you may not be able to rely on......

carlos delgado to the new york mets. heres why: beltran last year was very tense every game. he felt that he had to be the big producer on the team. now that delgado is batting behind him, he can relax knowing that his teammate and friend will pick him up. also, delgado can be a leader to the young talented players on the mets team.

i imagine the most important result will be Nylander w/ the Capitals, now Ovechkin has a center who's notably underrated, as a rangers fan i understand this, yet an excellent participant regularly occurring (shoot the p.c..!) so no better excuses for the Caps as a rebuilding little ones crew.
