Here's the situation...I just started a new job in a production plant..I have never worked in production; so it is very new to me. I was chosen to learn about running a huge oven that is like bigger than my house. I am a little nervous about it. The girl who is teaching me has so far this week chastized me for coming in five minutes after her on Monday and Tuesday(this was the time my supervisor told me to be there), criticized me for various things that I have done incorrectly but didn't know any different. She is not a supervisor or anything. She has done this type of work before and is very quick. I talked to my supervisor about it twice yesterday. The second time I almost just walked out because I just don't think I have to take that critical behavior. The supervisor had a meeting with all of us and told us to stop but kept looking at me. I did not go to work today; I just feel like crap about it all and it wasn't my fault. Would you go back?

Get another job. It sounds like you are unhappy. Don't worry about it. Tell the manager you think you should be treated better and just give them a 2 week notice.

Why are you taking this so personally? It is your Supervior's job to criticize you if you mess up.

Are you doing your best to please? Are you doing your best to learn and to understand? If not, you are going to be criticized and confused. If you can't do these things, and give 100%, then you should just stay home. Better yet, don't even bother getting out of bed. Because you can't work for anyone until you decide to.

You must learn to work for your superiors, no questions asked (unless your question is a benefit for everyone, and not just you), and do it gladly. If you are just showing up for the money, then the money isn't going to be worth the hassel. You must somehow decide that you want to do the work, and enjoy it. Otherwise, stay home.

You work for accomplishment, not gain. You work because it is the right thing to do, as opposed to being lazy and "staying home."

Develop an understanding with your supervisor, understand what she wants, then if you do that, how can you be criticized? Leave for work ten or fifteen minutes earlier. Are these things too difficult? If so, stay home.
