I was watching TV and on the show i was watching the woman had a pet skunk...I did some research on the internet and some people actually breed skunks descent them and sell them as pets..anyone else herd of this or actually have a pet skunk?

I have a couple of friends who have pet skunks. As another poster mentioned, you must be very careful of their dietary requirements (my one friend is not so careful, and her skunk is very overweight and has TERRIBLE smelling bowel movements). They are very loving & playful to have, but also very demanding of personal time and very jelous of the other pets in the house.

Skunks used to be very popular. They actually supposedly make great pets. However, they only breed once a year, so they are hard to get. That is how Ferrets became domesticated. People figured out that Ferrets can be descented too, but breed several times a year. So they started breeding them instead.

some people can have skunks and vets can have the smell glands removed so it won't spray you. this lady on tv had like 20 skunks!

No they do not make great pets! They are WILD ANIMALS!!!! They are a major carrier of rabies!! I volunteer at a wildlife rescue center and we get animals in all the time because some person thinks it would be cool to have a wild animal as a pet! Wrong!!
They are destructive and need to be in the wild and not caged up for your own personal enjoyment! They have strict dietary needs which most people don't like to follow- They are illegal to own unless licensed by the state you live in.....

i don't have a puppy skunk, yet my figure's acquaintances do, you are able to visit the vet and get them De-Stinkified. in case you want to keep him, and your mom and father do not concepts, you are able to take him to the vet and get his rabies photos, and stuff! they are very lovable and wonderful even as they are domesticated! wish this helped!!! ?

you know of all the animals that i have ever had - and i've had a few - a skunk was never one that i just wanted to have!
I wonder what we could name a skunk oh yeh FLOWER!

YES, MY FAMILY HAD 2 WHEN I WAS A CHILD, THEY ARE JUST LIKE A CAT, IF YOU HAVE THEM DESCENTED.
