Six months ago I got my tongue pierced and I loved it. My boyfriend b*tched about it so bad and so much though, that I ended up taking it out after 2 weeks just to make him happy and make him shut up too, lol. He despises them, says they're nasty and they make a girl look trashy and slutty. He says girls with tongue rings are screaming "I love sucking d*ck!" I don't agree. I liked it just cuz I liked it. But anyway, I want to get my tongue pierced again but I'm unsure because I know I'll have to hear it from him again. If I get my tongue pierced again, this time I'll have done it knowing that he hates it. Should I go ahead and do it for myself, or forget all about it just to keep the peace?

Going ahead with it without talking to him 1st would be childish and selfish on ur part.I would approach him with what ur intentions are and see where the convo goes from there.This isn't just a pet peeve thing, it is something that he will have to deal with everytime u are together and if he feels that strongly against it then i would have to ask myself..is it something he really does just hate for good enough reasons or is he coming across as controlling? Try to reverse the situation in your own mind...if it was him setting out and determined to do something that u absolutely could not deal with or accept quietly,how would u feel?,how would u cope? We don't know enough about the relationship or the two of u as people to be able to give u an answer,really. Does he hate it for real? Or is he trying to be controlling? U need to figure out the answer to that before u can begin to resolve this issue u 2 are having. Best of luck :)

I understand where he is coming from and I understand where you are coming from. I think you have to do what makes you happy and dont let any other individual dictate your actions. Its your body and you should do with it as you please. I mean he b*tched for 2 weeks, maybe if you would have kept it in a little longer the first time he would have eventually shutup. I know mines did. And if you do get it just tell him that he is just going to have to accept you for you. Personally as long as you dont keep your tongue hanging out of your mouth, I think tongue rings are cute. But thats just my opinion.

If you care about your relationship, I wouldn't do it without talking to him first... you have to do things for yourself, but you also need to compromise a little bit... If he really doesn't like it, it might be something you could learn to live without... Personally, I think that they are a little trashy if you go around flaunting it and showing every guy you meet... If having your tongue pierced is more important to you than having a good relationship, go for it.

it's not that only he doesn't like it,. He is just trying to control you. I would tell him "look we're not married and I can do what I want. You don't like it, too bad take a hike." Life is too short to have someone your not married to dictate your life. Even if you are married he shouldn't be able to tell you what you can and can't do with your body. He doesn't own it, you do. He's not your daddy. If you want to pierce your tongue again go and do it. It's your life honey.

I think his perception is right. Tongue rings do make people look trasy and slutty. But I think in the end you should do what you want to do. He should respect your decision if he really cares..

Tell him that you like it and maybe you two can come to some sort of truce. It's your body and you should do what you want, but don't be completly inconsiderate of his feelings.

i would get it down for yourself, and if he dont like it its his problem he should like you for the inside not the outside and tell him that he should have enough respect for you to let you do things you want to.
