If I said that I just dropped a "Nelly"(like the famous dude) in the toilet would you people (black or white) be offended? .....if 'yes', why? And why is it okay to say "I gotta drop the Cosby kids off to the pool"?! Please explain whether you view this as racist or just plain stupid humor.

Plain, stupid humor, with a hint of racism. I like using "Nelly," because I feel it really defines his body of work.

Well, I guess some black people would/could get offended, so it's a pretty touchy subject. You might try, "Hey man, I gotta take the Browns to the Superbowl." That way, there's no racial conotation involved and you can still get the point across that you just gotta ****. I think it's pretty cool what the one dude said about the origin of such slang being Greek. It's just strange how **** (ha no pun intended) like that gets skewed. I'd say still use the phrase, but selectively-i.e.-not around black people or people you think would take offense.

Actually " I dropped the cosby kids at the pool" is racists, I only heard it without saying cosby.
First off you have no clue where that expression comes from. 'Drop the kids off at the pool". It drives from Kronus the Greek god that ate his children out of fear that they will overtake him. You can research the rest of the story on your own.

If you don't like blacks then don't pretend you do. Its just as bad to be a phony black lover as it is to be a racist guy.

Not really. I think the whole planet is full of so called racists of all shapes, sizes, colors, descriptions, etc. The term itself of recent vintage.

Fundamental right and wrong is something you don't have to tell people about. Most people know.
