To be really honest, I think he will.. Why? to answer this, imagine that the 7th book finishes with Voldemort being slayed by Harry and harry survives himself.. do you think that would actually be an end??? Won't every Harry Potter fan ask for more??? How about what harry does for a living? His marriage to Ginny or some other witch.. their kids and all.... We all know we love Harry Potter enough to read about him till WE get to our graves.. so the only way the HP series can end is by either Killing Harry Potter or somehow rendering him a Squib (say, when he kills Voldemort, all his magic is drained or something).

I got this idea from a fan fiction series by a writer called barb... If you'd like to read the series too (4 books), you can download it for free from http://groups.yahoo.com/group/flhogwarts/files

Have a fun time reading...Oh and join Hogwarts Online.. its fun.. http://h1.ripway.com/destiney/main.htm

First off if you go to JKRowlings.com to the rubbish bin you will see there that she loves Harry Potter and always will. Second she is bound by what she has said in the BOOKS. Harry very well could die but it will be a gallant death. He is a Griffendor after all. But that brings us to the question of if Harry dies does that not mean that Voldemort will have survived?? I cannot imagine JK Rowlng letting the most evil and cruel wizard alive live while the hero dies. Remember the prophecy. Also to all those Harry Potter fans out there I don't think that Dumbledore is dead. Go back and re-read the chapter that he dies. He tells Draco that they can make it look like he dies and he will be free. Also lets look back on the murders of the Riddles, Frank Bryce and then Cedric. It never mentioned that they were thrown back (like the expelliaramus spell) they just fell over dead. Why if that is the case did Dumbledore fly out a window to the ground??? RAB is Regulus Black. He is the brother of Sirius Black his middle name had to be that of the uncle that gave Sirius all his money.

I don't think Harry will die because he's the main character and that's just not done. I don't think JK Rowling is tired of writing about Harry Potter. I think she's stalling because when Harry's done, what will she do next? She'll have to live up to the standards of Harry Potter and the worldwide phenomenon that created and that's just too much pressure for one person. So we'll see.

um...Harry is destined to either live or die...it's in the prophacy. She's just tired of trying to expand these characters. She wasn't and isn't planning on writing more than 7 books. It's how she wants it to be. So sorry she's not writing anymore, but that's the truth. Anyways about the death thing...it is POSSIBLE that she will kill Harry off to prove he may be the "Boy who Lived" but he has weaknesses. Or he'll live and it'll be a happy happy day as the novel ends. ..we truly won't know till next summer when the final novel :( comes out.

That would be sad. It's possible. But not because Ms. Rowling tired of writing about him. She said she would stop writing about Harry and magic after the 7th book.

She mentioned that people always expect her to keep Harry alive. What makes them think she won't kill him off?

Well, that's what she said.

I don't want him to die. She can stop writing about him without killing him off.

Perhaps he will die. I personally think that he will sacrifice himself to save his friends and to finally rid the magical world of Voldemort
