Suggestions: use their name when giving them a firm hand shake. Know details about the hospital, I would suggest you even go for an informal tour of the hospital. Know about the postion you are appling for. Be yourself don't get nervous. When answeing questions don't ramble. If this is suppose to be your job you will get it. Good Luck!
Personal Appearance is also important: Dress in clean clothes, groom yourself before leaving the house.
Practice: Practice with a friend so you don't get so nervous at the interview.

Dress appropriately, smile, and offer a handshake.

Your first impression is now over.

Remember an interview is just as much for you as it is for the company. Make sure you are clear about your job description and that you like the person who you will be working for. By asking questions about the job and the organization you will not only discern weather or not the job is for you, but you will show the interviewer that you actually have an interest in more than just a paycheck.

Good Luck and don't be nervous. There really is no need for that.

Be clean, well-pressed, drop a few comments revealing you have done some reading up on the hospital. If it's a teaching hospital and you're impressed by that fact, say so. Avoid being too friendly with the interviewer, and be aware that his/her job is to weed out those who'd be a 'bad fit', so don't "go there...".
But, you don't want to come across as a door-mat, either.
Hospitals are becoming tough workplaces these days, so ask questions.
Thank the person for the interview.
Above all, get there early

* Pay attention to appearance (i.e. dress appropriately for the organization) and non-verbal expressions and gestures. A smile, confident tone, and firm handshake (one of my pet peeves when interviewing people is the 'dead-fish' handshake) will begin the interview in a positive way.
* Take into consideration that, like you, he or she may be a little
nervous. Light conversation will “break the ice” and make
both of you feel more comfortable.
* Ask questions! Asking questions to the potential employer shows that you are interested AND should show that you've done your research on the hospital.
* Be sure to remember names, if you're interviewing with more than one person, and to address people accordingly (Dr., Ms., etc.).
* Be prepared! Get a book or internet handout and practice potential questions with a friend.
* Be yourself--I've interviewed so many people who appeared scripted and phony. People who were themselves and gave some life and personality to their interview were memorable and looked upon more favorably.

Good luck!

Be on time, even better 10 minutes early. Arrive prepared for anything. Have extra resumes, letters of reference or any other information relating to the job. Turn off your cell. Do not answer it under any circumstance. Dress for success. When meeting your interviewer, give a firm handshake and repeat the persons name. For instance, "Hello I'm Ms. Jones." They reply, "Tom Smith, please have a seat Ms. Jones." You reply, "Thank you Mr. Smith." Something as simple as this can get the interview off to a positive start.

No gum or candy and if you must smoke, do it on the ride home.

When you are asked interview type questions, take a moment before you speak and gather your thoughts. Speak slowly and enunciate.

Dress to Impress! What works for me, is be prepared to ask and give questions on your abilities and past experiences, but give positive answers, don't talk negative about past employers or people. I always look them in the eye, be honest with your answers and sit up straight and don't fiddle around. Give a good hand shake entering and leaving. If you want the job really bad, be sure to know the name of the interviewer and send them a thank you letter for interviewing and that you are still interested in the position. This helps them to remember you too.

One big thing is, make sure your resume is good with no mistakes. And attach one or two recommendation letters from past jobs if possible. This can be a big plus before they call on you later. Be yourself, upbeat attitude and smile! Hope you get it and Good Luck!

look professional. hair, clothes, grooming etc. don't look like a slob heading in there. also, research the hospital and the position you're interviewing for. Nothing irritates interviewers more than a candidate that just sits there and nods and says yes. engage them and ask about the atmosphere, condtions, job duties and be upbeat. the talking between the two of you should be about 50/50 maybe a little more on your side.

The first impression is made the moment you walk in. Look professional. Make sure you are very clean (fingernails!!!) Depending on what you are applying for (nurse or administration) dress appropriately.
