First, ask yourself if you love football. If not, then don't bother. If you do, then I would absolutely encourage you to play. It is so fun and addicting. I've only been playing for 3 years and have sucked each year...but I still love it and can't wait for next year. Just be prepared to follow a lot more teams than your favorite one.

Pros:
- It only takes as much time and effort as you want to put into it;
- It makes all football games interesting at some level (even games between two losing teams);
- You can play for fun, for money, for pride, or any combination of the three;
- You can give the strategic part of your mind a little workout.
Cons:
- You may have to deal with some trash-talkers (not all of whom are polite, mature or good-natured);
- Some fantasy football players find themselves putting much more time into it than they planned to (I don't know if you have an obsessive or highly competitive nature, but if you do, you have been warned);
- If you don't like football, you won't like fantasy football.
My suggestion: try it with people you like. It can be a fun excuse to get together or at least stay in touch. Test the water: you don't have to jump all the way in right away.

Yeah, why not. I do recommend that if it is your 1st time and you will be partaking in a live draft, you should buy a Fantasy Football magazine. They will give you lists on who the top players are at each position and if you know a lot about football, you can use your knowledge combined with info from the books to make your own lists. Also, don't draft players based on who is your favorite. That means nothing, especially if your favorite team has a bad offense (Buffalo, Baltimore, SF, Chicago, etc.)
If nothing else, you will have a greater understanding for football as a whole.

Absolutly, if you follow football PLAYERS fairly close, it is a great way to pass any time. For anyone who follows football, it is also a good way to find more out about the game. It's a billion dollar industry for a reason.

It's your choice, of course. It depends on how competitive you are and how much time you want to spend playing.
I play every year for fun. I join a Public League & let the computer draft my team. To me, it's fun, free, easy and doesn't take that much time.

You should play. Its fun and you will follow players and team you normally would not follow. Plus if you get a nice size group you can have bragging rights if you win it all!!!!
