Jim Butcher writes a series of books called the Dresden Files about a wizard/PI named Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden. I had heard that there was a project in the works to bring the series to the small screen. Anyone heard any news or updates for this?

A pilot must first be created, and if it passes the FCC and the test panel of randomly selected jurors who watch the pilot and rate it, then the producers will review wether it is worthwhile going ahead with the project, given the capital investment needed for something like this, every possible statistical analysis tool is exploited to determine wether it will be a hit. News of there being a pilot in the works is what probably filtered down to you, but this means very little given that about 5% of pilots are approved for production. Don't hold your breath.
