On the movie Uncle Buck how did you like the parents? Me I personally didn't care much for them cause they seemed kind of ignorant towards their children, I especially did not like the mother cause she was a snobby person who seems to put down people who are less sophisticated than her.

On the other hand I do think Uncle Buck is a hilarious movie due to John Candy's performance as the titled character

The parents were jerks because that was the point of the movie. John Candy is so funny it's ashamed he died. But it was kind of a lesson learned movie. It made the kids realize that they really didn't have to be embarrassed about their uncle because he really was cooler then their parents.

Uncle Buck is one of the great movies of all time. They should bring back movies like this. I miss John Candy.

The mother I did NOT like, I thought the father was alright and he did seem to be more respectful towards Buck, Uncle Buck is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

My aunt and uncle were just like the parents in that movie. And all 3 of their kids grew up the same way. My parents were very "Uncle Buck-like", and I feel like I have a much better outlook at life as well as way more friends!!!

BTW, John Candy was a gifted actor/comedian and I miss his comic genius....

Uncle Buck is hilarious. I haven't seen the entire movie in years, but I do catch most of it every time it comes on cable. I always miss the beginning scenes with the parents though and can't remember how they were.

You really don't get a feel for them -- after all, the movie's not about them. Looking back at the movie, I think they were more concerned with appearance than in substance, but that's a classic 80's movie theme. To be honest, the father is even less of a character than the mother, at least that's how I remember it. Still one of the all time great movies!

I didn't pay much attention to the parents but John Candy is awesome! If you like him you have got to see "Wagon's East" it's the movie he was making before he died, and it is hilarious!

The stepmom character did seem a bit uppity, but I think it was a rough situation for her to deal with the oldest daughter. The dad was okay. He stood up for his brother, Buck, when they needed to find a long-term babysitter.
