There are plenty of jobs a 13/14 year old can do - just not jobs that require the filing of a any state and federal paperwork. (Babysitting, lawn/garden maintenance, etc...)

The age restrictions are part of child labor laws which prevent companies from taking advantage of children. These laws were created in response to the horrible factory conditions prevalent during the early part of the industrial era.

Because 13 and 14 year olds are still kids. There are child labor laws in this country, where I think 14 is the minimum age.

I know you desire money, but trust me...live with what you have and postpone work AS LONG AS YOU CAN. You will have the rest of your life to work...and you will wish you were a kid. :-)

In the meantime try odd jobs, like lawn mowing, babysitting, and selling stuff on ebay. Tell a caring adult you're willing to work for some money and they might give you some small jobs.

Child Labor laws are strong in most states, but
you can get out there and walk dogs, mow lawns, polish cars,
pretty much anything most grown-ups simply haven't the time for.
You'd be smart to stay in your neighborhood and build a 'rep' as the go-to-kid for last-minute help accompanying somebody's
mother or granny to the market, walk-the dog, etc.
Many, repeat, many CEOs started this way as kids your age
God Bless

Hey. How old are you? I'm 14. You mean, you are trying to find a job? Every weekend in your house there is a job right? For example sweeping, cleaning windows, clean our bedroom etc. Students like us are supposed to study and learning in the school.

13 and 14 year olds are supposed to be in school and trying to better themselves. Most of them are not mature enough to handle the responsibility of a job and it stresses them out more. Wait until you're older.
