Don't make a move. You are going to hurt all involved. If she really wanted to be with you she would leave him and unfortunately thats the bottom line. Asking her out will make it hard for her and it will hurt you even if she gives you the go ahead. I think she should never have told you she liked you if she's not willing to make a move. It's hard to deny feelings but it would have been less complicated that way. If she does break it off with your friend, give him time to get her out of his system to make a move, or keep it on the d. l. I would wait to see how their relationship plays out.

You need to talk to your friend first and ask him if he really likes the girl. Then express that you are having feelings for her but you don't want to step on your friends toes. If the girl likes you as much as you like her then it shouldn't be a big deal for her to dump him, so what about his feelings. I think she is playing with both of your alls heads.

If you're good friends with the guy, stay away from the girl. She's not worth the friendship--which will be damaged.
There's plenty of girls out there. Just move on.

dude you are SCREWED. first of all if she does leave him for you, it will ruin your friendship, probably forever. Even if you do work it out he'll still kick your *** (deservingly). Plus if she leaves him for you, she'll probably do the same thing TO you eventually. She'll flirt with someone while you two are still together and wind up leaving you for him.Probably one of YOUR friends at that. Move on for now. If you still want to date her later on down the road, I'm sure your buddy won't have as much of a problem with you dating his ex as he would if you stole his girl.

If she doesn't like him, then she needs to break up with him...but you need to be loyal to your best friend. In all honesty, the chances that a dating relationship will last are much less than the chances of a friendship....friendships last forever if you're careful. Stick with your best friend, man!

If the girl likes you enough which you say, she would explain to your other friend that she just has more feelings toward you and if he doesnt understand and gets mad and if you guys really want to be together then he will get over it.
