The Rock was born Dwayne Johnson on May 2, 1972 in the state of California. His mother is of Samoan heritage, the daughter of The High Chief Peter Maivia, and his father, the great legend Rocky Johnson, is of African-Canadian heritage.

He is Samoan and African American. He was ont he cover of "Jet" magazine, a magazine about African Americans in entertainment. I was shocked at first to see him there but if you look at old pic's of him especially with his hair grown out you can tell.

I personally think that the rock; "Duane Johnson" has some hawian or somoan roots.., not sure but now you know his real name :)
