I believe all drugs should be legalized and heavily taxed. I strongly believe in individual responsibility and I believe drug related crime rates would go down. There is a set precedence in our country of making things illegal increasing crime rates rather than decreasing them.

Legalize it, it could also be used for producing ethanol, partice board (it's 10 times stronger than wood) clothing, medical use.And have you ever seen a fast marijuana driver? If anything they drive slower. You can go into a liquor store (powerful lobbyist those liquor guys!) and buy a bottle of grain alcohol 95% pure no problem, but marijuana no way!And there wouldn't be so much money spent in liver transplants! There are people all over the u.s. that smoke it, wall street brokers, I met a judge in the seventies that did.And if it were legal, I'd join the club! Also the pharmecutical companies make to much money with their drugs with all the side effects, zanax , zoloft etc.Just pop a little yellow pill and call me in the morning.

No, don't legalize it, even though if we could regulate and tax it the funds would be YEEHAW for our economy.
Do you have any idea how many people are drug dealers, and what ties selling marijuana has in other criminal elements? What will the drug dealers do, become incorporated, part of the system? Get legit jobs? Plus, all those incarcerated would be back out on the streets.
No, they'd more likely move on to other criminal endeavors, spiking crime rates and increasing the damage to our country (think guns, heroine, etc.) For this reason alone, marijuana should not be legalized.

I think it should be legalized. My husband has a medical marijuana card from the state of Oregon. He has a herniated disk in his neck and marijuana affords him a full nights sleep of at least 5 hours. Without marijuana, he has very restless sleep and wakes up with a terrible neck and back ache. He also gets kidney stones on a regular basis (we have tried every and all remedies to stop this but to no avail). Without marijuana, he has to take ALOT of Vicodin for the pain while passing a stone. With marijuana, he only has to take a little. He also has this affliction called "iritis" or Uvi-itis" It is like arthritis of the eye. This is also VERY painful and light sensitive. With marijuana, it makes the symptoms much more bearable. Marijuana makes my husbands life bearable, which in turn makes life easier for me.

Marijuana is illegal because, unlike alcohol, when used even in moderation, it is mind-altering. And even though it has some medical benefits in certain circumstances, the FDA would never approve it due to the harmful side affects from it being an inhalant.
In layman's terms, one beer will not have a mind-altering affect on you while one toke from a joint will.

Yes-legalize it!
This is a good example of conservative hypocrisy.Guns?Rights!
Beating people over the head with religion?Rights!Cigarettes?RIGHTS!
But pot? Oh no,aphrodisiacs are bad because sex is d-i-r-t-y.
This problem has caused a massive pharmaseutical industry that cares about 1 thing:Profit. All hail King Profit!
Don't tax it.Why tax it?But if we have to to get it legalized then fine tax it.

I'm still trying to figure out how they justified making pot illegal? I mean, it's not like they can arrest mother nature for producing it and she was the first to produce it, (without help from man,) the rest has just been offspring!
in my opinion, alcohol and marijuanna, cannot even be compared to eachother, realistically it's more comparible to something like chamomile or lavender or some other kind of medicinal, calming herb

Basically, I really think that it would be a good thing to do and I agree with your reasoning. But if they did, then some people would ask that other drugs be legalized also
