Please don't let my Opinion alter your views but; I honsetly can not decide if a helmet would have given his head the flexability to move as it did and could have caused more head/neck injuries. Possible spinal injury that could have cost him him life/and or carrier.

Okay. I didn't read the opinion as I wanted to be a clean slate. The famed Pittsburgh Steeler wears a helmet when he plays football. Old-time common sense says wear a bike helmet (unless you are off of the bike getting a Philly Cheese Steak). I would LOVE to see the contract. Why? Well, it's the simple case of a hand model. The hand model is REQUIRED to keep the hands soft, smooth and perfect. Nails perfect, skin tone perfect, et. al for the next shoot fo the hands displaying some wonderful new concoction for the hands or body. I pondered as to whether his contract said he had to keep himself together in order to fulfill the terms and obligations as set therein to continue playing football at his peak level. If so, that is awful and most folks wouldn't drive down the road throwing vast amounts of currency out of their car windows. AND~ this Steeler has rolled around stadiums and practice areas like a donut gone wild so why take a chance? There is no way I would've taken that chance if intelligence and strength got ME a plumb position with a football team. Now look. Will he ever play again? Willl the contract be null and void? Will he be reduced to making cereal commercials? It's all common sense! It's also a shame. Putting all else aside, he is human and I hope he makes a full recovery.

Absolutely, I've been riding for several years and have never seen any accident in which case the riders helmet did not help prevent serious life threatening injuries.

The majority of Roethlisberger's injuries were to his head. Of course he would have been better off with a helmet. Every rider is better off with a helmet.

He's young, rich, and irresponsible just like all the rest of them. But, everybody gets a wake-up call sometime in their life. I think a helmet would've drastically reduced his injuries. I also think a valid motorcycle license might of helped too.

Yes. It was lucky he survived this near-fatal motorcycle accident. If he had worn a helmet in the first place, he would've suffered less serious injuries in that very same accident. And let that be a lesson to you all. When riding a motorcycle, please wear a helmet!

Of course if he would have been smart enough to where a full face helment covering the front of his face along with his head he would have not broken any bones in his faceor have the nine inch cut in the back of his head. You ask me he is an idoit for not wearing a helment.

Although a person wearing a helmet can still suffer serious injuries, I believe he would have been better off wearing one. Perhaps he wouldn't have had any facial fractures if he'd been wearing one. I think he'd have suffered less. He was behaving recklessly.

Absolutely.... I wouldn't ride my bike to the end of my driveway without a helmet. I knew a guy who was just sitting on his bike and the weight of his bike alone fell over on him sitting still and he died of massive head injuries. It's like seat belts, you might find one in a thousand situations where you might have lived without it verses with it on, but I'll take my chances with it on the other 999 times. I almost died in a car crash wearing my belt and the belt caused several BAD injuries but, I'm still alive to hurt and talk about it. I WOULD have died without it. Same with helmets, it don't take much to bruise your noodle. Anyone who rides with out one is an idiot. I bet he won't ride again without one. Ask him!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes he would have been better off. When I wrecked a bike years ago, I hit the pavement so hard it cracked the helmet, and I was lucky enough to walk away, with no damage to me.

Anyone else ever wondered why it's against the law to not buckle up, in a fully enclosed vehicle, but on a fully exposed one, you don't even have to wear a helmet? Who are the genious law makers, anyways?
