Scientific evidence suggests that the Earth is actually around 4 billion years old. We have shown that many fossils are more than 6000 years old by using carbon-testing and other accurate tests. We have used geological evidence as well. Thus, that prediction of the Bible is probably incorrect, although that doesn't mean that you should disregard the Bible.

The earth is about 4 billion years old. What, exactly is your question?
The bible claims the earth is 6000 years old. Yes. According to the geneology, the babys daddy daddy daddy, it's roughly 6000.
The earth is 4 billion. Doesn't really add up, does it.
However, I'm not bashign the. I think it's got some great lessons. Plus, it is possible their concept of time is a bit different than it is now. Wasn't moses 900 years old? :)

All...repeat, ALL...scientific evidence done over the last 100 years or so proves that Earth is at least 4.5-billion years old. Only religious fundamentalist crackpots prefer to ignore that huge body of evidence and go with what their interpretation of the bible says.

According to the bible the Sun moves and the Earth stands still, so I have no faith in the scientific accuracy of the bible. Read the bible to learn about spirit and love, read science books to learn about the age of the world.

The accepted age of the earth is approximately 4.5 Billion years old.
The accepted age fo the Solar system is 10 Billion years, and the universe is 12-15 Billion years (I think).

Well, the bible does not tell you how long a year is. People in the bible lived to be 600 years old. It also says the world was made in 7 days, how long was a day?
