Our courthouse has an extension service office. You can take samples of well water there and they will have it tested for all kinds of things. You can also take it to your environmental health department and they will test it for you. Call them first. Some want you to bring a sample to them, others come to your house and get the sample. They will give you a report of what they found in the water and if it is safe to drink. Well water has always tasted funny to me. Most of my friends with wells drink bottled water and just bath and wash clothes in their well water.

You can either call a water softner company who will proform a water test for you to see what minerials may be in your water , they will suggest if you need a water perifaction system and you can also brign your water to the hospital lab for testing. That will find if there is any bacteria in your water.

You can have it tested for bacteria and e-coli. You can also test for chemicals, you maybe getting ground water.

Of course, if you are having a drought and your water table is low, you may have sulfur
