also im looking to spell alysa in greek.

You could spell Mercedes the same in Latin, but you'd have to pronounce it Mair-KAY-dayss in Classical, or Mair-CHAY-dayss for Medieval Latin.To keep it pronounced mostly the same (depending on whether you're giving it the American pronunciation a la the car or like the Spanish girl's name), you'd need to spell it "Mersedes" in Latin.

Greek needs a different alphabet (alphabet from the Greek, "alpha beta"). I think Alysa in Greek would be Alpha-lambda-iota-sigma-alpha. Yes, if you used upsilon (the Greek letter that looks somewhat like a Y), it would be pronounced Alusa, and you don't want that.
