yeah - after applying it to the top lashes (do this first so theres less on the brush for when you do the bottom) and when apply on the bottom - just graze them back and forth like you're brushing your teeth - do you know what i mean ? if you try to illuminate each lash by using the downward stroke you'll end up with you said - mascara on your skin

You can apply mascara to the bottom holding the brush vertically and sweeping it through the lashes. This works because it will prevent the mascara from getting on your skin and it will help you keep a natural look to your lashes while making them stand out.
Hope this helped!!! :-)

Well, you could read that they say hold the wand vertically and use the tip. If you STILL smudge, try licking a Q-tip to clean up a little bit. If you STILL can't do it, just throw on a little liner & smudge it. It'll create a decent illusion from a few feet away, but someone may notice if they're close up. Not that it's a big deal or anything, but that's what I'd do.
If you use black mascara, you might try a brown or brown-black instead, to make your oopsies a tiny bit less noticeable.

Use clear mascara for the bottom first. Let it dry and turn your head to face good lighting so you can see where the ends of your eyelashes stop and your skin starts! Apply light small strokes and aloow to dry before sweeping on more. You could also fold kitchen roll under your eyelashes and sweep generously, using it like a newspaper for painting so your don't splat your face with black clumps. Your bottom eyelashes also look longer if you apply a thin stroke of eyeliner and eyeshadow in a complimentary shade (darker colour than your eyes)

don't. i think that when u put mascara to the bottom lashes it looks wierd and clumpy. i jus use a light shade of grey eye liner to go under my eyes to make my bottom lashes look thicker.
