Lying is an integral part of human nature, and the nature of other creatures as well. Men pretend to be more capable of providing for a female and offspring, and to be more powerful than is the actual fact, as this attracts females, and females pretend to be younger and skinnier, as this signals to the male that the female is better for breeding purposes, and this naturally attracts the male.

Weak people lie because they worry what other people think of them. Although, sometimes the truth causes more trouble than its worth. But then, if you lie about something and then get caught out, you look twice as bad. Once you catch someone lying, its hard to trust them again.

I am the complete opposite. I cannot lie unless its a jokey type of lie which I can run with and then say "only joking!" but anything serious I can't lie as I feel sooo guilty about it and have brought up to be honest and truthful often this has been my downfall!

Because having to deal possibly with a face to face confrontation makes us very nervous. Nobody likes to face the facts. But once it's said and done and out in the open we feel release. It's human nature.

It's hard to tell the truth because most of the time the truth is harsh and so we blur it up so we don't have to face it.
