Me and my husband are actively trying to have a baby. We got really excited when I was four days late because in the past seven years, I've been regular and have never missed a day. Then on the fifth day I started my period. Needless to say I was crushed!!! My husband was let down as well. I don't know what to think? If I should go to the doctor or just forget about it and keep trying.

Take a Home Pregnancy Test and see what it says. You may have had a chemical pregnancy where the sperm fertilizes the egg but then it doesn't attach to the uterus.

Don't give up took me 10 years to get pregnant and 3 miscarraiges and several chemical pregnancies and finally gave birth to a healthy baby girl last year!

Same happened to me. I was three days late and have never been late unless I was pregnant. Pregnancy test came up positive. Then on the fourth day I started bleeding so I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound but there was no baby. The doctor said I had a miscarriage or a chemical pregnancy.

I know it sounds stupid to say this but my suggestion is go to the doctors, I went throught the same situation with My fiance. She and I are now proud parents and I can safely say she had her period just like you did. It's worth getting checked out within a week after the period. But to make things more exciting, the day after your period ends is normally when a woman is the most fertile, it's also the same for the day before too. So to be on the safe side, get checked after the period is over....

Your most fertile time is when you are ovulating - not the day after your period ends. Women usually ovulate 2 weeks into their cycle. (whether it be a 28 day or 33 day cycle)

Most insurances cover fertility visits now. You could always check to see if your insurance carrier does.

You don't mention how long you have been trying to have a baby. I would recommend that if it has been for more than a year then call your doctor and make an appt. and he/she can refer you to a fertility clinic.

Good luck!!

You can test if it will ease your mind. But you were probably wanting to be so bad that you were stressin. Stress especially when it is pregnancy related (hoping) can and will delay your period, giving you false hopes! I did this awhile ago...I had my period in Jan then NOTHING in Feb. I was sure I was preg till I got the period at the first of March. Everyone on here is gonna tell you to relax and have fun and not worry about it. I know they tell me all the time, but it is so hard to do that when you are really wanting and trying to get pregnant. I will tell you to go to the drug store and buy a BASAL thermometer if you don't already have one. Taking your temp every morning will help you determine when and if you ovulate. Best of luck...

Forget about it and keep trying. But if you've been actively trying for several years, it might be time to go get both of you tested. Things like a sperm count and checking for scarring in your reproductive organs could really help answer some questions. Or maybe it will lead to fertility meds. It sounds like ya'll are eady to get a bit more proactive in this baby making and finally get some happy results. Best of luck!

Keep trying. Sometimes when you come off birth control it takes a while for your body to return to complete normal. It may take a little longer to get pregnant. Don't stress and share your concerns with your doctor.

Maybe/maybe not.. best thing to do- though believe me- I KNOW it sux to take a pg test and have yet another negative.. but it will put your mind at rest. It's better than thinking 'what if' that just stresses u out more.
It took me 10 years to concieve my son.. it happens.. it really does..
Keep trying!

Have you tried seeing a fertility specialist?? I know they can be quite expensivie, but maybe they can help. I'd just keep trying...at least you'll have lots of practice in for when you actually Do get pregnant LOL.
