I just got as a present from my little brother he would be heart broken if he died PLEASE HELP ANY1!!!!!

yes he has finrot....put a bowl of water on the table for 2 days,thenput the fish in that,clean out the take,sterilize it (use sterident tablets or stuff that you use for baby equiptment) refill the tank,leave for 2 days then put the fish back in

If its a gold fish this is normal if it is young. They have black on them for a while, and as the grow it dissapears. Or maybe it is a calico variety of fish which are usually gold, white and black. If you are not sure what type of fish it is, get a book. They usually have fishy types and ailments.

Look him up on the internet or go to the vets office(vet is a good choice) It may be common for his breed of fish to have that...I fthe vet says it uncommon ask the vet if theres cures...the vet should be able to cure him

Sounds like a parasite. Call the fish store and check on their return policy.

That doesn't sound like fin rot. Fin rot appears that the fins are being invisibly eaten away. (I'll try looking it up in my manual o' fish diseases tonight.) I guess it's a fungus, but they are generally white or grayish.

Well itz just the algae that settles on fish.....if u r keeping him in a bowl try a make sure he is constantly movoing swimming and not scared of other fish........coz that is what causes the spots......all the best!!

You should take a sample of his water to your local petsmart or large pet store. They will test it for you to make sure there isn't anything in the water making your fish ill.

sometimes,if you are using a water treatment and overdose this can cause colour change,if fish not listless and feeding ok then wait couple days,do a water change and add Melafix,this is tea tree oil based and excellent,good luck.
