I've never been to any man-made beaches, but I have been to many a Michigan shore all over the state. By far, the clearest lake I've ever been in is Higgins Lake (not too far from Houghton Lake in the northern half of the lower peninsula). It's funny, my dad, who grew up on the pristine shores of Lake Superior (another pretty clear lake), complained that Higgins Lake was too clear!

There are great sand beaches all along Lake Michigan. The water is a good temperature in the shallow parts come mid-summer. There are many smaller lakes throughout the state. Try Lake Charlevoix or Crystal Lake for starters. I'll be up at Sugar Beach in Traverse City on Lake Michigan next month. The hotel has a nice private beach.

Yes there is but you will need to look for them on the internet and find them. Go to search and you will find them.
All you have to do is look up MI and go to there web sight and then look up man made beaches. you should find them on there. But I think that the water is colder there so then there would be few and far between. That is my suggestion.
