If a person is in terrible pain, and more than two or three doctors state in their professional opinion that the person will never recover but will die, is it morally wrong to let that person pass away peacefully with the assistance of a doctor? If the person wants to die quicker then the dreaded disease will take that person, do they have a right to make that choice? And should doctors be allowed to help the patient die sooner than the disease would kill him/her?

It is a moral, legal and personal preference question of which nobody seems to agree. I personally would like the same dignity that I would practice with a beloved pet that I would be derelict if I let suffer. Sometimes love means having to move on with your self respect. I hope that the laws are adapted to allow for ones personal choice.

Lot of opinions about this. I don't think I want someone else deciding for me, as long as I can make the decision I should be able to judge when the quality of life is gone. I personally would prefer the help of someone I care about not some stranger.

I believe if a person is terminally ill or getting to the point they can't take care of themselves, they should have the right to die w/dignity if they want to die. I hope if/when the time comes for me someone will be compasionate enough to let me go. Let me "accidentaly" O.D myself. Why would you want to let someone you love live in constant pain, especially when they are terminally ill and they're dying anyway? Thats cruel in itself.

I dont think that it is morally wrong. This would be a very tough choice and dying now and going to peace would be a lot better than living everyday painfully, awaiting the day till you die.

I think yes. Why should a person have to suffer? We put animals out of their misery, so why shouldn't a human be allowed the same?

just because it's illegal doesn't make it wrong. personally, i think it's more humane to help that person die. a longer life does not necessarily mean a better life.

Legally it's murder.
