I am from Cyprus! the island rocks!!!!

First of all, if everyone reads this question correctly, it doesn't ask which you like the best. It just asks if anyone likes Greece or Cyprus.
I am half Greek and half Cypriot and I believe that both countries have a lot to offer. Is it true that Cyprus has a stronger economy? Yes! Is it true that there are more things to do in Greece? Maybe - after all it is a much bigger country. Even though someone might think that these two countries are similar and the people the same - they are not. Cyprus has the cleanest beaches in Europe (with Greece a close second.) Greece has some of the best night life I have ever seen ... I can go on and on but the bottom line is that I've met Greeks and Cypriots who love material things or who are rude and arrogant, just like I've met people like that from all over the world.
As far as beauty is concerned, one can only say that a place is the most beautiful if they have been to every other place in the world first.
Let's not be closed minded and think that the world revolves around us!
And to answer the question YES I love Cyprus AND Greece!

Cyprus is great. Greek Islands are great and that is why 1000s of Cypriots visit them every year, but Cyprus is more cosmopolitan more diverse and more open to the world. You can have a fun holiday environment and you can also have bussiness environment. The reason many people have a decent standard of living is because they work. Villagers got some money and live in villas because they work hard and send their kids to college so their kids have a better future. I think we are progressive people(I wish we were even more). We do not hate Turks as individuals. We hate their government for occupying half our country. If they leave like the brits did then we will have no problem with them either. It is true that some people are concerned with material possesions but we have democracy and as long as they spend their own money good for them. They help the economy.
To: Alp --- Don't hate Cyprus because it has the more advanced economy in the eastern Med. FYI Cyprus is a net contributor to the EU. If it is dusty and boring then another reason for the Turkish army to return home and leave us alone. Turkey can only fight with an island of 700k and we still corner them every day. Cyprus is great don't hate it for that.

Maybe you mean the island is just rocks...I am Greek and I have been in Cyprus, nothing interesting there...any average Greek island is much better and more beautiful.
Cyprus is full of peasants and villagers who suddenly earned some money and now live in villas and they think they are on the top of the world or something. They also hate the Turks with all their hearts, but they have no prob with the Brits who harmed them too, and actually in a more disgraceful way. But the Brits pay...I have many Greek-Cypriot friends, some are cool, but the rest are 20 years old and their main concern is whether they will buy Gucci or Prada or Louis Vuitton...And at the same time you all whine and say how mistreated you are by waving your money...Poor things..

The cell of the Earth where the Time (Cronos) developed the goddess of love (something everybody now-a-days oppose an all do!)!
Cyprus, where half an hour drive separates snow skiing from swimming in clear, clean, blue, safe, hot waters!
Cyprus, the people who discover copper, recorded history and suffer from everyone, including Asians, European, African, Americans! Muslims and Christians!
Cyprus, the Land of energy and great people!
IF someone claims he/ she does not like Greece or Cyprus, we should not even pay attention to them, they are sick, they do not know, they are from a planet where beauty is considered to be colorless and the sound monotonous!

Not even some Cypriots. Archbishop Makarios called the UN security council on the invasion of Cyprus by Greece and he fled to England to escape the Greek military junta 1974.
Dusty and boring little island trying to survive by tourism, money loundering, selling their houses to foreigners, and EU funds...

I am from Greece! I ve been to Cyprus on vacation two years ago..reeeealy hot but still so great! I went to Larnaka, Lemesos and Lefkosia, I had a great time...wish I could go back soon!

is spot on, nothing out there to do, its so boring and the generation of ppl these days make it sound like its the best place to be in the world...CYPRUS sucks

i,m greek and altough i find cyprus avery beautiful island, i must say i didint like cypriots very much. they treated me like like i was a second reate citizen because i'm from greece! no way i'm going back to cyprus, no matter how beautiful it is.!

My grandmother is from there. I dream about going. The beautiful blue water and white buildings. When I retire I will go on a holiday there for a month!! I could easily go now, but I want to spend some time to realy see it all and my work on't let me take more than a week off at a time..
Maybe I will visit you, well in 50 more years!
