It doesn't work like that. Some things will never be "totally accepted".
In America, we have eliminated the threat of racism, equalized women, and embraced numerous lifestyles: homosexuality, divorce and seperation, religious and economic differences. For the most part, we're good, now. Part of living in an open society-as opposed to a cult-is that you cannot control other peoples opinions. You do not get to impose your values on the rest of society.
A person is entitled to believe that homosexuality is unnatural and ungodly and gross. And they are free to express their feelings. As long as they respect the law, no intervention is required.

Bias is natural part of humanity. Pretty much everyone has some. Some parts of society are exclusive. No one says you have to go there. The more you try, the more power you give them.

Actually, I am sure that they will never be accepted by everyone. People have their high morals, and they are not going to "degrade" themselves as low as the United States Supreme Court could (and this is an if. . .a very big and controversial if. . .) I am not sure what could happen afterwards, but hopefully nothing as "immorally" insane.

Hopefully we'll see an end to bigotry, people will won't be judged by their sexual preference, heritage, or religion and we'll accept each other for who we are.

Shortly after this spreads worldwide you'll see a massive outbreak of peace. Then we can pool our resources and get to work on solving real problems like hunger and disease.

There will be peace for a while, then that something else will come along. Why don't we work on the acceptance of our brothers and sisters first, then cross that "other" bridge when we get to it.

Well, Let's consider the issue-- it must be another group considered a minority in the US society and on the fringes of acceptability (whether rightly or wrongly so)...How about cannables? They seem to fit the mold---but I can tell you which I'd rather have to a dinner party! =D
