I was a single mom for 12.5 years. I cut coupons,
lived on only what was necessary and bargain hunted
like mad. Shop at ALDI (I think it's in the UK) not a regular grocery / food store. I tithed my money, trusting God to rescue me (Malachi 3:10). My daughters father was 0% reliable. Can't squeeze blood from a turnip! I had good friends and family within 15 miles to help out with babysitting and when I needed other child care, I bargained with care providers. I shopped at Thrift stores and probably dressed better than most people I knew and had decent housewares and furniture because of garage sales and second hand things. I STUCK TO A PLANNED BUDGET. When my daughter was 11 and our schedule allowed with the help of a new friend who lived about 5 streets away, I took a second job. That helped make ends meet but that was not the key. The key is a good education FOR YOU. You can become a licensed Realtor in the UK and earn a decent wage dictated by you and your ability to earn according to hard work. If you have a degree, demand to be paid what you are worth. I may be running out of room but my best suggestion is to ask the LORD to substain you financially and spiritually and to give you strength to be a good mom. He will do it for you.

Best of luck to you. I'd be glad to help you as far as suggestions, support and whatever I could provide. I believe you can email me if you like.

I get no help from my ex. And my family is awesome, without them I would be living in my car or worse. I don't know how I could do it alone.
