There probably wouldn't be too many practical uses for unification. It would be an enormous triumph of the human intellect though. Just think about it, according to a unified theory all the forces of nature would be manifestations of just one fundamental force....thats pretty cool. We would be one step closer to "knowing the mind of God". However it is possible that some practical devices may come from such a theory. Things like the artificial gravity that you see in Star Trek. Maybe even antigravity....thats a big maybe though.

According to Stephen Hawking in A Brief History of Time, "The value of the grand unification energy is not very well known, but it would probably have to be at least a thousand million million (10^15) GeV."
The most powerful colliders ever designed can go up to a few thousand GeV. The scale 10^15 GeV is only a few orders of magnitude below the Planck scale at which gravitational effects become important.

There is an answer to what you ask, even though it is often ignored. The answer is found in the physics trilogy of E=mc2, m=E/c2, and c2=E/m. These describe the basis of our physical existence.

The reason for learning these relationships has to do with seeking how energy and mass relationships relate so we can use them for our benefit. The automobile and flight have come about because of learning how to use one value with that of another. The last value c2=E/m is that of a gravitational field. It describes a field of time according the the variable of "c". This means this manner of ENERGY is able to be increased and decreased according to the mass/energy relationship here also. The value of "c" is not just a numerical value, but has "physical" property as demonstrated. Were you to go to http://timebones.blogspot.com and scroll down to "The Problem and Repair of Relativity" then after that, go further down to "The Formation and Collapse of a Gravitational Field" it will make more sense to you.

One benefit of c2=E/m would be that of forming a gravitational field in a spacecraft. However slight, it would be of great value.

I don't know what the ramifications of it would be but the only odd one out is gravity. Electromagnetic, and the strong and weak nuclear forces all fit together, but we can't find where gravity fits in. We search for this because we're curious. that's how many discoveries were made
