Change your spam protection so that you can only receive messages from people in your address book. If you're using Yahoo, you'll want to turn on your spam filter (do this in options) and set it as high as it can go.

If you are using outlook express create a message rule that places all mail not from and address list into a seperate folder.

Then add all the addresses in your address book to the list.

Turn off the preview pane in the new folder, this in general will lower the amount of spam that you recieve.

It's hard to answer your question without knowing how you get your email now. You can try using programs that pre-filter your email before you pick it up like MailWasher. Or, you can use challenge response systems. Any solution will have it's pros and cons.

The link below is from a report that is broken down into various sections. You might want to review and see which solution would be best for you.

If you have Earthlink as your ISP then you can set your options so that only people in your Address Book will be allowed through.. otherwise.. you will need to set up your filters to block the spam you don't want.

Honestly, I have no clue unless you have them sent to bulk folder like I do BUT I get about 100 bulk mails a day. Then every once in awhile something important goes to bulk where I never get it because I don't have time to daily pick through all those mails.

I really wish I could get my hands on every one of those ppl. I'm not violent but in this case, I'd rip their heads off.
