I think he's going to be great. From the photos and little footage available so far, Craig has the goods to be an excellent Bond, closer to the Ian Fleming novels.

Audiences will have to leave their preconceptions of the movie-Bond at the door though, and many may not be open-minded enough to do that. I suspect that "Casino Royale" is going to be excellent.

A blonde James Bond?? Ummmmm...yeah, O.K. I'm willing to see how he does in this film, but ultimately there is but one James Bond....CONNERY. The only one even close to his level has been Brosnan and I can agree his reason as to why he chose not to do it any longer. The tongue-in-cheek lines are predictable and should have been done away with when Moore left the role. Here is my opinion of the heirarchy for actors that have portrayed Bond *starting with best*...Connery, Brosnan, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton...I know Moore lasted the longest with I believe 9 007 films, but he topped out with The Spy who Loved Me and quickly went downhill from there.

He's actually quite good looking & I think he'll become a decent Bond. I hope audiences will give him time to develop his strength in this role. Anybody would be better than Pierce Brosnan, he's just too pansy-fied to play the role right - it takes a manly man to play Bond!! And for the record, I love Timothy Dalton & thought he did a great job, better than Moore, better than Brosnan but yeah, Connery is BOND!! lol

I really liked Pierce Brosnan as Bond, but I'm willing to go see the new one to see how Craig does. He's got a nice body that's for sure and he was good in Layer Cake. We shall see.

Well, I haven't seen any clips yet. But to go from Pierce Brosnan, who was the best Bond since the original, Sean Connery, to this goofy looking guy? I'm not impressed so far.

reminds me of Timothy Dalton who was not a good bond and only last 2 movies. I don't Daniel will last past 2 movies. There is too much resentment against him.

The movie trailer for it looks pretty good. I am willing to see him as Bond at least once.

But in truth the is only one Bond. Sean Connery made Bond what he is today

All depends on how the movie makes him out to be, crappy direction, style, and script, crappy Bond. Good script, style and direction, he could be great.

He doesn't seem like he'd make a great Bond compared to Bronsnan, but I'll give him a chance *shrugs*

The fact that Martin Campbell, director of Goldeneye, will direct the movie might be at least ranked C+
