Because he is letting the Whiskey and Cocaine talk for him. Or else the effects are still effecting his brain.

I would say it's because people were so used to everything being ok when Clinton was in office they thought it would be with bush too, but now that he's been in for a while everyone realizes the mistake because there brains must have come out of some sort of a trance they were in. Keep in mind that the republicans tried impeaching Clinton because he had an affair. Now that I understand...after all, the affair affected us all, I'm surprized I did'nt die from it personally, and I'm sure a lot of people died that I don't even know about, and there familys still cry from missing those people. If the affair had'nt raised taxes on gas so much people probably would'nt be so mad at Clinton though. I'm still trying to figure out why he would feel the need to destroy our national rainforest because of Monica, but I'm sure he had a good reason.....

The war is unpopular. It's going on too long even if you were on board at the beginning. 2,500 us soldiers dead, untold tens of thousands more maimed for life.

Soldiers sent to combat without proper armored vehicles.

Grossly misjudged the war - "greeted as liberators" - "we know where the weapons of mass destruction are" - cost of the war - number of soldiers needed afterwards -

The White House leaked a top secret CIA operative's identity just to get back at someone who disagreed with them. Bush said whoever was responsible would be fired.... and NOTHING has been done

It is largely seen that Bush, Cheney and crew are very much supporting big business and not helping the regular people.

Gas prices vs Oil Company Profits

The economy is falling. Interest rates are rising, Inflation looms.

FEMA blew Katrina Response, and now may have wasted $1billion dollars

Poverty on the rise. Upper Class wealthier. Middle class vanishing.

Torture.

Unconstitutional wire-tapping of American Citizens.

There are many reasons for the low approval rating. For one, after doing an initially good job after 9/11, Bush became sidetracked by his aids into invading Iran, which had nothing to do with 9/11. Despite a total lack of evidence in support of WMD, Bush insisted on the first war of aggression started by the USA in the history of our nation. Bush's love of oil has led him to support policies that are anti-environment, anti-alternative energy, anti-conservation. Most of our actions in the Middle East are driven by energy concerns. Bush has even managed to lose support within his own Republican party by not developing a policy towards the illegal immigrants that the rich element of the party can agree to. The poor element of the party (those who care only about abortion and gay marriage) don't like his immigration stance either.

Many Americans do not like that our country has beocme despised by most people of the other nations of the world. It is not pleasing to be considered the world's bully.

It is likely that Mr. Bush will go down in history as one of the worst Presidents we have ever had.

Any more questions?

The war in Iraq is unpopular and the economic outlook is so bright for most middle class Americans - these two main points probably have the biggest effect on Bush's approval rating. There may also be something said for a repressive social climate brought on by socially conservative policies in this matter as well.

Heres why, chief. Ole G-Dub is not getting support from either side of the political specturm, and its easy to see why. Its almost as if he's trying to alienate everyone, on purpose. He angers the pseudo-commie liberals because he's wasting time in Iraq, getting our people killed and spending millions of dollars a day on his little pretend Holy War. He is alienating the gun-toting, lockjawed conservatives because he's letting illegals invade this country like the Nazis invading Poland, he spends money like a drunk liberal and of course everyone hates him becasue of the Patriot Act.(Also known as Nazi Germany Part Deux) The 20-30% that actually approve of what he's doing are none other than the Lock-Step "BushBots", these people would insert a nuclear missile into their own mother's rectum if G-Dubya told them it would eliminate a terrorist. Without getting to far into my own personal politics, I'll give an example, for explanatory purposes only. I've always considered myself a "central libertarian", which means that depending on the issue, I could go either way. Regardless of what the current affair may be, I believe that everyone in the country cares about the same 3 issues, whether youre Right, Left or Center. 1st: The Economy. If the economy is good, and people are making money, the President could literally get away with murder and rape.(See Bill Clinton.) 2nd: Taxes. Regardless of who cares about abortion, or the FCC or anything else, if people are gettting Taxed to hell and back, they'll hate the president. 3rd: Freedom and Restrictions: When you start passing Bullsh*t like the Patriot Act, people are going to start to get nervous. We've all passed 11th Grade History. We know what Totalitarian Governments can do. G-Dubya is hated because he fails on all three of these points. 1. The economy sucks, due to his allowing of American jobs to be shipped via Cargo Ship directly to China for Christ Sake. 2. The rich are living virtually Tax-Free as are the poor. However, the average working Jack in this country is getting his poor penis taxed right off, F-**ing Hell. 3rdly, We have no freedoms anymore. At this point, the CIA could literally break into your house without a warrant and rape your wife, kill your children and castarate your dog, and there isnt a Goddamn thing that you can do about. Thanks G-Dub, thanks for everything. A$$hole.

His popularity is so low for many reasons. First and foremost, because he is a statesman who would rather take his oath of office seriously and protect the nation without regard to public opinion polls.

Secondly, oil prices are skyrocketing.

Third, the whole situation in the Middle East makes people uneasy, and they would like to believe that if we just had some grinning liberal idiot in the Oval Office, the terrorists would suddenly stop their Islama-fascist crusade. They seem to forget that 9-11 happened BEFORE we invaded Afghanistan and Iraq.

Fourth, Universities, the Media, and influential groups like the ACLU are heavily far-left liberal. Therefore, Bush does not have a snowball's chance in hell of getting fair and balanced coverage of his policies.

Ignorant people in this country. Politicizing everything by both sides. Uhhh...and people who no matter what he does will never like him because he stands for what he believes in.

And Jason up there...he needs a lesson in logical fallacies. Slippery slope fallacies, red herrings, and straw man are all logical fallacies of his arguments. Look em' up guys. Also his facts are only representative of what he already has aligned his preconceived notions to be.

I recently did a rather extensive college paper on the Patriot Act also, and it is nothing of the sort that the media would have you believe...but keep relying on the media for accurate information!

Limbaugh conservatives will push aside the validity of the ballot you indexed. Leaders from the neoconservative flow, human beings like William F. Buckley, and, Richard Vigurie have in modern-day weeks presented the Bush administration as risky to the conservative flow and adverse to the rustic as an complete, an fantastic progression.

I think it depends on the poll. Which poll is it (was it an indepedent poll or a DNC poll?) ? How many people were polled? What were the demographics of the poll? How were the questions asked (was it a push poll)?

I could take a poll in a whorehouse and get 100% support for legalizing prostitution.

Because even though a good portion of the American electorate are mindless sheep, even they can feel let down by the Prez, even if they can't verbalise it. That said, if he could run for a third term, he'd probably still win. He'd simply come up with some good, patriotic-sounding, home-spun message that would meake every idiot think "He's jsut liek one of us!"
