American history is full of examples. Blacks and women's sufferage. Interracial marriage. Child Labor laws.
Change may not be popular, but does anyone reading this really want to return to a day when women could not vote? Blacks had separate drinking fountains and railroad cars?
Read up. There were protests. violence! DEATHS! But change happened, and things are better now in that respect.
Western Europe is getting with the times. Gay Marriage WILL HAPPEN! Why fight? Eventually the US will catch up with the civilized world, and down the road, your kids will wonder what the fuss was about.

very well said man!
i trust you are an American and im glad that you see that western Europe is ahead of you guys for once
here in England we didnt realy have much of a problem when they put the gay marriage thing to vote and we seem to be more accepted every day, but from what i can see of some American attitudes it must be terrible at times.
I wish all the world would just be free to do as they please and people just smile and walk on by

Does it really have to be a fight or could it just a bunch of ordinary people sitting at a table talking about Gay rights. I think it would made better history for our country than fighting and killing people. Why can't we just sit and talk. Maybe we could learn a few things by listening what they have to say. For the government I am sure it is considered waste of time. Can't we do anything for our future generation that are already growing?

evertying is about tming. for many changes to take place humanity had to progress to the certain point. You can't make change right the way it won't work. If for generations ppl belived something it ain't happening overnight.
Look at the religious ppl they still thin k GOD glue the stars and made moon is the light, and they do really belive that all those ppl that GOD killed was for greater good.

I could not have said it better myself. It is enevitable.

We will fight for those rights tho because if you don;t stand for something, you will fall for anything. Cliche but very true.

You have to fight for what you believe in...and we will fight....

The U.S. ... considers itself the land of the free and the home of the brave and it's true....we have to be brave to live free....

And as long as they're angry christians in our white house, we have a hell of a battle to fight...
