If you'll tell me what a 'dive bar' is I'll tell you. I'm serious, I'm a non-American and have no idea what a dive bar is and I'm actually quite curious.

For squimberley - A "dive bar" generally refers to a small, "hole-in-the-wall", local or neighborhood bar. It's not flashy. Drinks are generally cheap. The atmosphere is laid back.
According to the dictionary Dive: (Slang). A disreputable entertainment establishment (Merriam-Webster).

I have many favorite dive bars in Baltimore, MD where some neighborhoods have a bar on the corner of almost every block. They are: No Idea Tavern, Frazier's on the Avenure, J. Patrick's (Here part of the ceiling has been covered with trash bags for years, but they have the best french fries, and live Irish music).

I haven't found one that I liked in Chicago yet, but two of the "diviest" dive bars in the whole U.S.of A are located in Providence, Rhode Island. The first one is called The Living Room and the second one is called The Safari Lounge. It smells like piss and they floors are always sticky but the music is always really loud and obnoxious! I love it! *lol*

The Franklin House. Used to be in Glassboro, NJ. It's gone now.
:( They knocked down a wonderful dive that had been on the site for over 200 years.
