"Guide to EU and Irish Competition Law:
Irish Competition Law
The pivotal institution involved in Irish competition law is the Competition Authority. Several other administrative and judicial institutions are involved in competition matters in Ireland.

If there is a conflict between the decisions of these institutions, then decisions of the judicial institutions (i.e. the courts) will prevail over the administrative ones (e.g. the Authority). Similarly, the supremacy of EU law over Irish law means that the decisions of the European administrative bodies prevail over the Irish ones where there is a conflict. Moreover, the Irish institutions may not take actions which undermine Ireland's EU legal obligations."
