The X factor unless removed stays in the body and mutates by its nature hence te Jean Grey incident in XMEN2. All the "cure" could hope to do is make the X factor dormant wich consequently should make the persons stronger when the mutation exceeds the limitations of the cure. Magneto being a cerebral mutant and a strong one at that would be one of the ones most likely to show early regeneration of his mutant powers. There is less mind over matter problems for his system to overcome. So, NO, the effects can not be permanent as the genetic trait was not eradicated in any mutant.

It is impossible to tell unless they make another X-Men film (I don't see it happening for a LONG time, and even then it will probably just start over and not start where the third left off). There is no mention of the cure in any of the comic books. I don't think the film makers intended it to be temporary, but rather an end to the X-Men film saga. Oh, and the part about Beast, he had to be within close proximity of Leech, and what the cure did was make so that you had a little bit of Leech running through your bloodstream all of the time.

The reason that Beast's transformation was not permanent was because he was just in the boys presence, he did not actually take the serum or shot that made the condition permanent. Remember the part were the one girl with the powers to run through walls, was trying to rescue the boy and Jugonot was after them but when he caught up with them he ran into the wall and fell down because his powers were useless when he was close to the boy. Its something about when it is actually shot into the mutant, that it is permanent. I believe that with Magneto, he really didn't get shot, he probably had some sort of repellent or something under or in his suit that caused the needle not to penetrate his skin.

Good question. I was also wondering about that because of Magneto. When the Beast guy was fine after moving away from that kid, I figured it was because the cure wasn't in him. I wonder if Rogue's powers will come back.

Well Magneto and the the cure, sure seemed like it wasn't permanent. But the kid, his powers are limited to range. Once beast went out of his mutant powers range, Beasts own mutants powers came back. But to if Beast was in his blue form because of mutant powers or scientific experiment, that's left up for debate...

I don't believe the cure is permanent. You saw how Magneto moved the chess piece a little bit. I don't think it's permanent.

they said that there was a chance it would be permenant but at the end with magneto moving the pieces im guessing only the strong mutants get the powers back faster.

It's not permenant if the "cure" is removed from the mutant, they go back to how they were, like the Beast. If the cure is injected into them, unless they get a complete blood transfusion, it will always be with them.

they need to make another on cause if thats the last xmen im disappointed.. if there will be more it was an awesome movie.

It all depends on the strength of the mutant, Magneto's dose might have been extreamly high, but then again hes one of the strongest mutants around. Although for all the other mutants that are of lower lvls, yes it is permenant.
